Caring Hands connects children and families with qualified, caring staff members who will be available to be introduced to the family immediately. Our families are offered a choice of two certified staff members who are available to begin work promptly, usually within forty-eight hours after the completion of the referral process.

The Direct Care Staff of Caring Hands residential support program will provide assistance with acquisition, retention, and improvement in skills related to basic daily living skills. These include personal grooming, cleanliness, bed making, household chores, eating, the preparation of food, as well as social and adaptive skills necessary to enable the individual to reside in a non-institutional setting. Caring Hands employees will complete service notes on a regular basis providing documentation of the proper implementation of the appropriate strategies and interventions. Services will be provided at a licensed Therapeutic or AFL facility.
The Direct Care Staff of Caring Hands Home and Community support program will provide assistance with acquisition, retention, or the improvement in skills related to community activities, social outings and social interactions outside of the home. Home and Community Support workers report to the home on a regular basis to escort the client out into the community. Caring Hands employees will complete service notes on a regular basis providing documentation of the proper delivery of the appropriate support activities and excursions.
The Direct Care Staff of Caring Hands Personal Care services program will provide assistance with daily living activities such as personal grooming, eating, bathing, dressing, personal hygiene and cleanliness. Caring Hands employees will complete service notes on a regular basis providing documentation of the proper delivery of the appropriate service. Personal Care will be provided in the client’s home.
The Direct Care Staff of Caring Hands respite care program will provide periodic relief for the family or primary caregiver. This service will be provided in the individuals’ home or in an out-of- home setting such as a Foster home or non-institutional Respite Facility. Other Community Care Residential Facilities approved by the State including Alternative Family Living Homes may be used. Caring Hands employees will complete service notes on a regular basis providing documentation of the proper implementation of the appropriate delivery of respite services.
Developmental Therapy is a service that includes individually designed instructions, training or functional developmental intervention activities, based on the assessment of, and the unique strengths and needs of the individual child or adult. It is designed to support the individual in the acquisition of skills that the recipient has not gained during developmental stages of life, and is not likely to develop without additional training and supports. For children, the focus is on strengthening skills in the major developmental domains and may include training and activities in areas such as self-help, language and cognitive development, and psychosocial skills. For adults, Developmental Therapy may include training in activities to strengthen appropriate developmental functioning in areas such as self-care, mobility, socialization, independent living and self advocacy and rights.
Personal Assistance is a support service that provides individualized assistance to adults. This assistance will result in the engagement of daily activities and interactions from which the client would otherwise be limited or excluded because of his/her disability or disabilities. Our staff will offer assistance in the client’s home that includes: (1) assistance in personal or regular living activities in the client’s home, (2) support of skills development, or (3) support and accompaniment of the client in regular community activities or in specialized treatment, habilitation or rehabilitation service programs.
